Portmore have just finished the season in fantastic style by winning 3 major inter club competitions to make it the most successful season in the clubs 10 year history. The ladies set the ball rolling by winning the Devon Friendly League for the 2nd time in 3 years. The ladies won the final 5 ½ to 1 ½ against Royal North Devon Golf Club at Willingcott valley. Led by Lady Captain Margaret Yeo the ladies showed what strength in depth the ladies section at Portmore now has.

The 2nd leg of the treble was won by the Men who won the North Devon Rosebowl in an entertaining final against Royal North Devon Golf Club at Ilfracombe Golf Club. Led by club captain Alan Huxtable the team managed to record a fine 3 / ½ to 1 ½ victory on a course in superb condition.

The win was extra special as this is the first bit of silverware the men have won but on this years performance it will not be the last.

The Treble was completed by the Ladies Devon League Team who topped off a fantastic league campaign by winning the finals day at Ilfracombe. The team were drawn against Fingle Glenn in the morning semi final and produced a superb display to win 4 of the 7 matches and secure their place in the final against the team who beat them in the Semi Final last year, Okehampton.

Having met in the semi finals last year the team knew it was going to be a tough match but they all showed fantastic determination and a will to win to be admired by all of us to record victory by winning 4 matches and therefore lift the trophy for the 2nd time in 3 years.
