The North Devon Junior league has started and the Portmore junior team have made a solid start to their campaign.

The first meeting was held at Torrington and the team performed superbly to tie for 1st place. The best individual score was recorded by Ben Thompson who had an excellent 39 points.

The second meeting was held at Holsworthy and the team battled well to tie for 4th place. The best individual score was recorded by Mitchell Wood who signed for an excellent 38 points.

The next meeting is at Saunton on May 25th.

There are a number of our juniors who have now gained their handicap or are in the process of gaining their handicap.
The junior committee are working to increase the number of handicap golfers within the section and are well on the way to achieving their goal.

The Winter Order Of Merit has now finished and their were a number of successes to come out of it.
All those that took part showed great conduct with their rules and ettiquette as well as impressive golf skills.

The winner of the order of merit was Sam Southern although it was only decided in the last event.
The best placed under 12 was Hayden Morris and the Best placed girl junior was Alice Cowan Dickie.

The presentation for the order of merit as well as handiacp certificates and playing cards will be held on Saturday 10th May at 5.30 pm.

It would be great to see as many juniors, parents or club members as possible attend the presentation.
