The Portmore Junior Team are celebrating winning the North Devon Junior League for the first time in the clubs history. They played the final League match at Royal North Devon Golf Club knowing that a top three finish would be enough to lift the trophy.

The team played some superb golf and with Mitch Wood the Junior Captain leading from the front. All the team put in superb performances and they secured second place on the day behind RND to help erase the clubs six previous runners up places. The team’s consistency over the whole season was the key to success with three wins, two seconds and a third place confirming their dominance. The whole squad played their part throughout the season and the team spirit shown has been tremendous.

The nucleus of the squad will be together for a few years to come so hopefully they can build on this year’s success. A big thanks needs to go to all the chaperones who transported the team to all of the league meetings and a special thanks goes to Audrey Warren who has been to all the league meetings looking after the team and recording the results.
