The Portmore Ladies Team made a great start to their Daily Mail Team Event challenge by winning their first round match at home to Saunton.

Led by Ladies Captain Alison West they played individual matchplay against a very strong Saunton Team.

Leah Webber was first out and put up a good fight before losing to her 5 handicap opponent. Karen Thomas scored the first point for the Portmore team winning her match on the 13th and this was quickly followed by Alison West who won her match 7&6.Jill Brown won a great battle in her match to win on the 18th and Amanda Webber secured a 4-1 victory with a 5&3 win.

The Ladies can take a lot of confidence from this result as they await the draw to see who their next opponents will be.
