Good win for palairet team
Item 50

Led by the pairing of Mitch Wood and Paul Blake the team got off to a fast start and were soon leading in 4 out of the 5 matches.

The first point of the day came courtesy of the pairing of Steve West and junior captain Sam Southon who was making his palairet debut. The pair were in outstanding form and were victors by 6&5. Next up to secure a point were the pairing of Alan Huxtable and another making his debut, vice captain Mick Mc'manus who combined superbly to record a 6&5 win.The match that secured the match victory was the first match on the course and the pairing of Mitch Wood and Paul Blake who kept up their good palairet record to win by 3&2.With the result decided the last two matches were played out for pride and after Richard Mallabone and Dave Goldsmith halved their match the final pair of Steve Davies and Paul Ackland narrowly went down on the last green to leave the overall match score 3.5 - 1.5.

Captain Richard Mallabone thanked Hele for a great battle and wished them success for the rest of the season and also thanked Terry Churchill for being on course captain. A big thanks also went to all the caddies who as usual did a great job.
