The Portmore senior section recently staged the 2010 Portmore Seniors Open.

More than 60 players competed in tough conditions to battle out the honours for numerous prizes that included nearest the pins,the straightest drive and a two's pot.

Although the overhead conditions were tough the players were treated to a golf course in excellent condition and this showed in the standard of scoring for the main prizes.

The overall winner with an excellent score of 39pts was John Nash from Portmore. The best home player was Dave Goldsmith with 37pts and the best visitor was Brain Dallyn with 38pts.

The day was superbly organised by the senior section and in particlular Dave Dendle and Dave Darch.

Thanks to the generosity of all players the Air Ambulance will now benefit from an extra £464 which is a truly great effort and rounded off a superb day.
