The Portmore Junior League team have put themselves back in contention to retain their Junior League title.
Sitting in fourth place going to Saunton the team finished in 2nd place on a day of tough scoring to pick up some valuable points. They then travelled to Holsworthy looking for a win to boost their hopes. This was gained courtesy of some great golf from all the players and now with 2 meetings left they sit top of the table in what is shaping up to be a tight and exciting finish to the league season.
The next meeting is Sunday 11th July at Portmore.
The Basil Steer team are through to the quarter finals after defeating Dartmouth at Stover 2-1. Mark Peters and Matt Blake secured the points to set up a match against Dainton Park at Crediton.
Hayden Morris won the stableford section at the Teignmouth junior open recording a superb 46pts and has duly had his handicap cut 3 shots to continue his good progress.
Dave Ashley has reaped the rewards of some technique changes and plenty of hard work on the practice areas. Playing off 3 Dave shot a brilliant 7 under par 64 to accumalate 46pts in the Tuesday competition and is now close to reducing his handicap to 2.
